京都国際学生映画祭は、日本最大規模の国際学生映画祭です。大学コンソーシアム京都が主催し、京都を中心とする関西圏の大学生が実行委員として、企画・運営を担っています。 学生が制作した自主映画を世界各地より集め、学生が審査をし、上映作品を選出しています。同時代を生きる学生の目線から、未来の映画を担う人材・才能の発掘を目標としています。
京都は、歴史的に見ても日本映画黎明期の文化遺産を現在も継承する「映画のまち」であり、京都市の人口の１割を学生が占める「大学のまち・学生のまち」でもあります。本映画祭では、多くの可能性に満ちた世界の学生映画を発掘・紹介するとともに、本映画祭が国際交流や相互理解の場となり、また連携活動を通して、京都および地域の活性化に貢献することを目指しています。
The Kyoto International Student Film & Video Festival is Japan’s largest international student film festival. Organized by the Consortium of Universities in Kyoto, it is planned and managed by university students from Kyoto and other cities in the Kansai region as the festival’s executive committee members. The festival gathers independent films produced by students from around the world, discovers the talent that will lead the future of cinema, and promotes the appeal of student films.
Historically, Kyoto is a “film city” that still carries on the cultural legacy of the early days of Japanese cinema, and it is also a “university town and student town” where students account for 10% of the population of Kyoto City. The Kyoto International Student Film Festival aims to introduce student films from around the world, which hold a lot of potential, provide opportunities
for international exchange and mutual understanding, and contribute to the revitalization of Kyoto and the region through collaborative activities.
